"Fiberlight - takes the original Featherlight construction to new heights. Fiberlight is a skateboard construction designed to withstand intense abuse, yet react a perform beyond what is currently on the market. Fiberlight provides an unparalleled repsonse to the ollie. Fiberlight is lighter, thinner and manufactured to a higher standard of quality and strength than any skateboard available today. Never before has wood and fiberglass been meshed together in this manner of skateboard constructio, providing what most don't experience today: real pop, no sag and the flexibility to withstand abuse with minimal breakage. Fiberlight incorporates a fiberglass beam in the center of the 7 ply board which provides power for ollie tricks. This beam provides tension when you pop the tail and transfers than energy into a higher ollie with more pop. The beam also acts like a shock absorber when you land as it transfers that energy throughout the board, which gives an even feel and helps pervent breakage. Since the fiberglass beam does so much of the work, we were able to make the wood layers thinner, which makes for an extremely light skateboard with more pop." - As quoted by the Element Skateboards website. However don't think these decks are completely indestructible. We have been a skate shop for years before we decided to be skateboard consultants, and we have had our customers break fiberlights. Just remember if you are 6' 5" and weight 220, you will still break any 7.5" deck. Buy a board that fits your feet!
